Would you like to take part in the Stickney-Forest View Lions Club’s 2017 “Run for Hope” 5K on September 24th? Then mark your calendars now to take part in this summer’s SFVPLD Couch-to-5K Training Program.
We will have an information session on Monday, July 10th, at 5:00 p.m. where you can learn more about the training program and what you will need to do to take part. Group runs will take place Mondays at 5:00 p.m. beginning on Monday, July 17th. This nine-week program will use a run/walk/run interval training method with the goal of getting you across the finish line. Interval training is used for the entire process; we won’t push you to run without walking, even during the race. This program is for beginners and those who need additional motivation. You will meet once a week on Mondays at the Stickney-Forest View Public Library at 5:00pm, for a group workout, then run or walk two other times a week on your own.
You will receive a program application and a waiver form at the information session. Only people who have turned in signed applications and waivers can participate in the training sessions.
