On the night of April 14, 1912, one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history took placeāthe sinking of the infamous British passenger liner, the RMS Titanic. By the morning of April 15th, within a little over a two and a half hour time span, of the approximate 2,224 passengers and crew aboard the ship, only 710 survived.
